The United Sates of America is referred to in the Bible, but not by that name. This was first brought to my attention 4 years ago by Rev. Irvin Baxter, Jr. of Endtime Ministries, and I agree with all of his conclusions, which follow; my comments in [brackets]: In Daniel 7:1-7, Daniel states, “In the first year of Belshazzar, king of Babylon Daniel saw a dream and visions in his mind as he lay on his bed; then he wrote the dream down and related the following summary of it. Daniel said, ‘I was looking in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the the great sea. And four great beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another.'” Now, the fact that these are “beasts” does not necessarily mean they were evil; it just means that, in Daniel’s visions, he is always seeing countries and empires as “beasts”. Daniel continues: “The first was like a lion [Baxter says this is Great Britain] and had the wings of an eagle [this is the United States, which “came from” Great Britain]. “I kept looking until its wings were plucked [U.S. War of Independence], and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man; a human mind also was given to it [I interpret this to be the Magna Carta]. “And behold, another beast, a second one, resembling a bear [this is Russia]. “And it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth [this is Sweden’s, Napoleon’s and Hitler’s failed, disastrous, attacks against Moscow] between its teeth; and thus they said to it, ‘Arise, devour much meat!'” [the former Soviet Union and now Russia, with its invasion of the Ukraine and its “annexation” of Crimea].
“After this I kept looking, and behold, another one, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird [The leopard is Germany, whose Panzer tank, although it does not mean “panther”, actually built a tank called the Panther, after it invaded Russia and saw that it could not compete with Russia’s T-34 tank. Panther is another name for a leopard, and Germany’s current tanks are called Leopards. The bird is the French rooster, which is the common symbol for France (on restaurant signs, etc.). France was populated by Germans (the “Franks”) and so they are are related countries. Charlemagne’s empire included parts of both countries]; “…the beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.” [This is likely Charlemagne’s, then Bismarck’s Prussia, then the Kaiser’s, then Hitler’s. These 4 “dominions” always led to much destruction in Europe].
“After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder [my emphasis] with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.” Daniel 7:11-12 continues: “Then, I kept looking, because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast [the fourth beast] was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire. As for the rest of the beasts, [my emphasis] their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.” It is important to note that these beasts have to be in existence when the Antichrist’s (AC) kingdom is being established, which is happening now, so these are not ancient nations, as the beasts in Daniel 2 and Daniel 8.
So, we have here, predicted in 538 B.C. or so, the accurate “nickname”, symbolic, description of 5 nations which still exercise economic and military power on the earth: The United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and Russia. All that is missing is China, but they appear later in Daniel. The “Big 5” at some point become the “remainder“. I believe this is in the Ezekiel 38 Gog war when Russia attacks Israel and is destroyed and the Lord sends “…fire upon…those who inhabit the coastlands in safety…” Ezekiel 39:6. Thus, the Big 5 are in a weakened condition, as a new confederation of 10 “nations” (geographic areas of the world) can be formed with a 3 1/2 year world government ruled by the AC. Then, above, verse 12 says that after the AC kingdom is destroyed by Jesus when he returns, the Big 5 will go into the millennium still existing as nations.
But this is only the Introduction, in order to make my, not Baxter’s, main point: Revelation 12:1-2, 4-6, “And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman [Israel, the Jews] clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; and she was with child; and she cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth…And the dragon [Satan] stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne [Jesus sits at the right hand of God even now]. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, so that there she might be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days [3 1/2 years, based on lunar months].” Revelation 12:13-14 continues: “And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. And the two wings of the great eagle [my emphasis] were given to the woman, in order that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time, times and half a time [3 1/2 years] from the presence of the serpent.”
Jews live in Israel, but Israel is not a wilderness. I believe the United States is going to be a refuge for Jews and Christians from the persecution of the AC during his reign of 3 1/2 years, because we are “the great eagle”. Also, it should be considered that, when Daniel and John wrote their visions, the existence of North America was not even known (maybe to the Phoenicians), so, to them, even though there was a land mass there, they would have considered it a wilderness even though there were inhabitants in North America. So, this is why Satan is fighting so hard to keep Donald Trump from his rightful office, as Donald Trump needs to be President of the United States during these dangerous times for Jews and Christians.
